POSITION DESCRIPTION
As the Kitchen Technician, the incumbent will be responsible to assist the kitchen staff with daily preparation of regular meals, keeping the kitchen orderly, sanitized and all equipment ready for use. The incumbent will also, as daily duties; keep restrooms, annex, and building clean and orderly.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Kitchen Staff in accomplishing the following duties:
Keep the dishes sanitized, clean and ready for use
Must have knowledge of inventory of food and supplies
Follow directions regarding proper meal preparation
Assist with proper storing of food and supply items
Keep daily, bi-weekly, monthly and annual duty logs updated
Assist with clean-up of the kitchen
Responsible for the daily housekeeping of the Senior Center
Must be able to lift heavy objects
Other job related duties as assigned by the supervisor
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Must have a Food Handler’s certificate or able to obtain within 60 days from date of hire
Able to follow directions
Must be able to maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen and facility
Ability to deal effectively and courteously with persons in the performance of the required duties
Must have knowledge of proper food handling and food storage procedures

Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
